EASA Part-145 SMS Implementation

This course is intended for Aviation professionals working in EASA approved Part CAMO and/or Part 145 approved organizations who are already fluent with the latest requirements of EU Regulation 1321/2014 ANNEX II - Part-145 but require to have a deeper understanding on SMS requirements in Part 145 Organisations as mandated by EU Regulation 2021/1963. 

What the Course is About

This hybrid course covers EASA Part 145 SMS implementation in detail and is composed of 2 modules:

Module 1: Safety Management Systems (SMS) Fundamentals is an asynchronous module intended to provide a basic understanding of Safety management systems as developed initially by ICAO.

Module 2: Part 145 SMS Implementation. This module is a synchronous module where the participants have the ability to interact with the instructor online. In this module we will discuss all the elements and requirements to be implemented in a Part 145 Safety Management System in relation to 145.A.200, 145.A.202, 145.A.205 and ICAO Annex 19 Appendix 2.

Learning Experience

This course is delivered in Hybrid mode, equivalent to 1.5 days classroom training.

Module 1 is an asynchronous courses and can be done in the students own time.

When learners complete the first module they can register to attend virtual live session for module 2 on the dates below:

Module 2 Live Sessions:

  • 19 October 2023, 4pm to 8pm, or
  • 09 November 2023, 4pm to 8pm

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

The Learner being already fluent with EASA Part-145 requirements will complement his knowledge on the elements of a Safety Management System and its critical elements such as the Management of Change and Occurrence Reporting as well as the importance of Safety Culture as a crucial aspect to successfully implement the SMS in his/her organisation.

Skill

The learner will be able to implement and support the implementation of the SMS as well as its key elements, such as the Occurrence Reporting system, Running Management of Change Reviews, perform Risk Assessments and promote Safety Culture in a Part-145 organization.

Competence

The learner will get sufficient knowledge that will allow him to perform Risk Analysis, Participate in Safety related board meetings and write processes related to the SMS.
